During a recent live interview on MS NOW, Friends of the Moose-Wilson Corridor and Joan Anzelmo, a Coalition member, highlighted the urgent effort to protect the corridor from construction of a separated bicycle pathway.
The National Park Service rejected such a pathway in its September 2016 Final Environmental Impact Statement and Record of Decision because it would harm critical wildlife habitat and Indigenous archaeological sites.
The corridor provides vital habitat for grizzly bears, moose, elk calving grounds, raptors, and other birds. We must prevent bulldozers from tearing through this sensitive landscape and removing thousands of trees for a pathway already determined to be environmentally damaging.
