The Coalition to Protect America’s National Parks (CPANP) seeks an organized and highly motivated self-starter to serve as a part time Staff Assistant. The position must be based in Washington, D.C. and will work to ensure that staff requests and requirements are handled and that task such as document organization, calendar planning, and inventory checks are completed on time.

Responsibilities include managing/logging phone calls, managing mail, tracking and depositing donations to the organization’s bank account, assisting with drafting internal/external documents, scheduling calls, handling logistics coordination with the CPANP Executive Council and staff, and additional administrative duties for the team. The position will report directly to the Executive Director.

Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, an ability to work under pressure, and a strong commitment to public service. Strong interest in national parks preferred.

• Knowledge of office processes, such as document handling, drafting communications, and virtual filing

• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

• Answering queries from staff and stakeholders of the company

• Scheduling appointments, meetings, and events

• Organizing travel plans and itineraries for management and staff

• Coordinating advocacy activities, including scheduling meetings with Congressional and Administration staff

• Notifying staff members of important information and company policies

• Assisting in the preparation of documents and reports

• Updating, maintaining, and organizing employee records

• Preparing venues for conferences or meetings

• Planning out work-related calendars and schedules

• Reporting any workplace issues through the appropriate channels

• Checking and managing office inventory supplies.

This position is 100% remote and does not require you to work within set business hours. The candidate must be in the Washington, DC area and able to manage the pick-up and processing of the Coalition mail 1-2 times per month.
